Jumpgate Evo
General
This was a project I did during my own free time and continually work on as a tool to increase my knowledge of web development and design.
The idea behind the website was to advertise a game called Jumpgate Evolution, developed by Netdevil game studios.
Design
I designed the website from the ground up using Photoshop.
Programming
I did all of the programming, the website is build on handwritten PHP, including scripts that are run by CRON jobs to update the news from XML news feeds on other websites.
Outcome
I ran a competition on the release of Evo in conjunction with Codemasters (the producers of the game) which attracted 80 people to enter and received 200 hits on average everyday for the first month on release.
